Insfield

Inserts a new field into a delimited string list array, separated by a pipe symbol (|).

Supported Script Types

Properties

Property Details
String The string you want to insert, search, or parse. This property supports variable substitution. If this value is a variable, rather than the literal string value, use curly brackets {}.
FieldToInsert The string to insert.
Delimiter Determines the character used to separate individual fields. The default is the pipe (|) character.
FieldIndex The number indicating which property to extract, starting with 1. This property is looking for a number, therefore, you do not need to use curly brackets {}.
ResultVar The variable name that is created and holds returned information. For example, if the contact enters their account number as 123456, then the variable holds 123456.

Branches

Branch Details

Default

Path taken unless the script meets a condition that requires it to take one of the other branches. It is also taken if the other branches are not defined.

Tips & Tricks

  • The Insfield action treats strings the same as the Field action, but rather than reading the string, Insfield inserts a new member into the string, for example:
    • String: one,two,three,four,five,six
    • Field To Insert: donut
    • Delimiter: ,
    • Field Index: 3
    • Result Var: newString

The resulting variable, newString, would now contain: one, two, donut, three, four, five, six. For information on removing a field, see Remfield.
